The Institute for Advanced Medicine (IAM) is the dedicated umbrella for HIV care services within the Mount Sinai Health System and has provided core primary and specialty medical and supportive services to people with HIV since 1986. IAM’s mission is to lead the field in providing compassionate, inclusive, integrated, and holistic primary care, prevention, and education, to advance the health of individuals and communities. The Institute for Advanced Medicine consists of four outpatient clinics across three hospitals in Manhattan. The Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery is also integrated into IAM, providing medical, mental health, social work, and a variety of surgical options for transgender individuals regardless of HIV status.
