Dr. Michael Hausman: “Could This 3-D Printed Cast Really Heal Bones Faster?”
A new, black, lightweight 3-D printed cast that's patterned like latticework uses an ultrasound device to make bones heal more quickly. “Incorporating this technology would be more expensive than just a plaster cast or a non-custom splint,” said Michael Hausman, MD, Interim Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
