Message from Our Chief Nurse Executive
Thank you for visiting Mount Sinai Health System, where you will find nursing at its best.
We are a caring community of 8,000 highly skilled nurses and advanced practice providers who are dedicated to providing exceptional clinical experiences and outcomes for patients and families every day. As nurses, we dedicate ourselves to improving the health of the diverse communities we serve and leverage that knowledge and expertise to advance the role of our profession both nationally and globally. This commitment is exemplified by our many nursing accolades. To date, four Mount Sinai hospitals have earned Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the highest available recognition of nursing excellence and a distinction earned by fewer than 9 percent of hospitals in the United States.
Our culture centers on supporting and empowering nurses to deliver the highest-quality and safest care possible, practice at the top of their license, and advance their growth and personal careers. The cornerstone for success is a professional practice environment that values lifelong learning, equity, leadership, innovation, and the application of scientific nursing research. Our patients and families are the ultimate beneficiaries of the critical thinking, expert decision-making, and compassion our nurses bring as integral members of the care teams throughout our Health System.
Nurses are the heart and soul of Mount Sinai. They are leaders within our profession and I am proud of, and inspired every day by, their ongoing commitment to creating excellence together. I encourage you to continue to explore the Mount Sinai Nursing website and learn more about nursing’s excellence in action. If you are a nurse exploring career options, please consider joining one of our many diverse nursing teams that are innovating care across the continuum.
Best,

Breakfast with Beth
Breakfast with Beth is a series of informal gatherings across each Mount Sinai Health System hospital where our Chief Nurse Executive, Beth Oliver, DNP, RN, FAAN discusses Nursing’s mission, vision, and strategic plan with a small group of frontline nurses from the day and night shifts. Our nurses have the opportunity to speak openly with Nursing leadership about the barriers they face in providing the best possible care, as well as suggestions to improve the patient experience, quality, and Nursing operations systemwide.
