Mount Sinai Health System and the 32BJ Health Fund announced today that they have agreed to partner directly to provide quality, affordable healthcare to eligible members and their families.

The agreement gives the more than 100,000 building service workers covered by the Fund continued access to the entire Mount Sinai network of physicians, services, and facilities.

With this agreement in place, care continues for these 32BJ SEIU members and their covered dependents.

“Mount Sinai is proud to partner directly with employers and health funds to deliver high-quality health care for employees and families to stay well while providing cost savings,” said Brent Estes, Senior Vice President and Chief Managed Care Officer at Mount Sinai Health System. “We are pleased to have reached this agreement with 32BJ Health Fund and look forward to continuing our work to remove barriers to access and improve the patient and employer experience.”

“When hospitals and insurance companies can’t come to agreement, hardworking people lose,” said Cora Opsahl 32BJ Health Fund Director.  “We are pleased that we were able to go directly to Mount Sinai to successfully negotiate for ongoing access for our members to high quality affordable care through the Mount Sinai Hospital System.”

Under the new agreement, 32BJ Health Fund participants will not experience any gap in in-network coverage for services provided by Mount Sinai providers, hospitals, and facilities. Patients may continue to schedule and attend appointments, procedures, and treatments as usual.
