Dr. James Gladstone: “Don’t Blame LeBron’s Cramps, or San Antonio’s AC Breakdown, For Heat’s Loss”

On Thursday night the Miami Heat’s LeBron James, cramping in the San Antonio sweat after the arena’s air conditioning system malfunctioned, was carried off the court in the fourth quarter, before the San Antonio Spurs closed Game 1 of the NBA Finals with a 16-3 run to beat Miami 110-95. “Rather than seeing this as a sign of weakness, or that he’s fragile, I think it’s the opposite,” said James Gladstone, MD, Associate Professor of Orthopaedics, and CO-Chief of Sports Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. “He pushed his body as far as he could go.” Learn more
