Dr. Ellen Marmur Weighs In: “Understanding Sunscreen Labels”
The federal government unveiled new guidelines to help clear up confusion about what’s in the sunscreen bottle. The FDA will now require manufacturers to test sunscreen protection against both types of ultraviolet rays. “You need broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection that’s going to protect you against aging as well as skin cancer,” said Dr. Ellen Marmur of The Mount Sinai Medical Center.
