New York Daily News - "Mount Sinai Queens Performs Transplant on Original 1895 Cornerstone In Advance Of Expansion"

 – October 1, 2013  ––

Mount Sinai Hospital Queens is set to break ground on a sweeping $125 million expansion on October 21, adding a five-story building to bolster its emergency room and other medical services. To make way for the much-needed development, a Tudor-style house that was built in 1895 as part of the original Astoria Hospital, will need to be taken down. The buildout will increase the size of the emergency department from 4,000 to 20,000 square feet. It will put a new focus on outpatient care, allowing for the addition of doctors and specialists, officials said. Learn more
