Mount Sinai Doctors Faculty Practice, a multispecialty group comprising more than 2,000 leading physicians, has received the 2020 Pinnacle of Excellence Award from Press Ganey, one of the nation’s leading patient experience organizations.

The award is an annual performance achievement award, honoring top-performing health care organizations that are committed to delivering reliably safe, compassionate, high-quality care and creating a culture of excellence to engage and support caregivers. This year’s award comes at a time when health care organizations have faced immense challenges and demands presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pinnacle of Excellence® award is a national recognition given to organizations that have met stringent requirements for superior performance to improve the delivery of patient-centered care and foster exceptional workforce engagement.

“Our compassionate and expert caregivers and staff are dedicated to providing excellent care for our patients and community,” said Burt Drayer, MD, Charles M. and Marilyn Newman Professor and Chair of Radiology for the Mount Sinai Health System, Dean of Clinical Affairs for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Chief Executive Officer of the Mount Sinai Doctors Faculty Practice. “This award illustrates that dedication and deep commitment as we continue to set new and higher standards of patient-centered care and team-based approaches, as well push the limits of innovative treatment, practice and diagnostics.”

The Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations for achieving and maintaining consistently high levels of excellence over three years in patient experience, employee engagement, physician engagement, or clinical quality performance. This award is given to only four client partners in each category. These organizations represent the leading edge of patient-centered care.

“The caregivers and staffs of these award-winning organizations touch the lives of countless millions across the country every day, and we are honored to recognize their extraordinary work,” said Patrick T. Ryan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Press Ganey. “To achieve these levels of success, leaders embraced the humanity of health care. They listened to the voices of caregivers and consumers and leveraged rich data and insights to inform targeted improvement strategies and drive the level of transformation needed to consistently deliver safe, high-quality care in the complex health care environment. Their ongoing focus on clinical and service excellence is particularly crucial as the pandemic continues to challenge their day-to-day operations. The accomplishments of our clients are truly remarkable and inspiring, and we are proud to partner with them in this noble work.”
