A new study today revealed sixty percent of abnormal mammograms turn out to be false positives, even though they can lead to biopsy and even surgery. Dr. Ira J. Bleiweiss, Professor of Pathology, and Oncological Sciences said, "Ironically, as mammograms are better able to detect smaller and smaller lesions, it’s often more difficult to make an accurate cancer diagnosis."
