BMC Cardiovascular Disorders traveled to Paris to attend the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) 2019 Congress held together with the World Congress of Cardiology. In a symposium presided over by Valentin Fuster, MD, PhD, director of Mount Sinai Heart and physician-in-chief of The Mount Sinai Hospital, he implored delegates of the need to communicate that cardiovascular disease is “Still the number one killer in the world and that more funding for CVDs research is urgently needed.”
