The urologists at Mount Sinai Queens treat men and women for a wide range of urological conditions, both medically and surgically. We offer comprehensive management of kidney stones with a variety of medical and surgical treatment options for you.

We also diagnose and treat hematuria (blood in the urine), urethral stricture and urinary tract infections.

For Men

We have expertise in men’s health, including management of low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, and infertility, as well as prostate cancer screening. We treat benign prostatic hyperplasiaBPH, (also known as enlarged prostate) using medical therapy and novel office-based procedures including the UroLift ® procedure. Use of UroLift eliminates the side effects associated with the use of medications for BPH, and results in fewer sexual side effects and a faster recovery time than surgery.

For Women

We also diagnose and treat urological conditions that affect women, including medical and surgical management of urinary incontinence and voiding dysfunction and overactive bladder.

Urologic Surgery

Our skilled surgeons perform a full range of open or traditional surgery; endoscopy, a minimally invasive procedure using a flexible camera to visualize the urinary tract for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes;  percutaneous, procedures done through the skin; laparoscopic, a surgery where a fiber optic camera and instruments are inserted through “key holes” in the abdominal wall; and robotic urologic surgeries. In addition to medical treatment of enlarged prostate, also known as BPH, we also perform a full array of operative interventions including Greenlight™ laser photo vaporization of the prostate, a therapy that evaporates prostatic tissue which is blocking the outlet of the bladder.  Our expert urologic surgeons are dedicated to providing patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care before, during, and after surgery.

Urologic Oncology

With two fellowship-trained urologic oncologists on site, we offer you state-of-the-art management for cancers of the prostate, kidney (including nephron-sparing partial nephrectomy), and bladder. We also treat ureteral, testicularpenile, and adrenal cancers, as well as other malignancies of the retroperitoneum, the space behind the membrane lining the abdominal cavity.

Our surgical team uses the latest in robotic surgical technology with the DaVinci® Xi™ Surgical System, a high-tech system that enables our specially trained, skilled surgeons to perform delicate and complex procedures in smaller spaces with a precision that is difficult to achieve with more traditional methods, and leads to excellent patient outcomes. Additional patient benefits include less bleeding and pain, lower risk of infection, quicker recovery, and smaller, less noticeable scars.

We collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of radiation oncologists and medical oncologists to provide complete multimodal therapy when indicated, or non-operative care when appropriate.

For patients who are eligible and interested, we also offer several ongoing clinical trials that aim to provide novel, better solutions for patients with urologic cancers.
