"Mount Sinai West Plans Eight Million Dollar Cardiovascular Project"
Mount Sinai West is planning $8.1 million in renovations to consolidate services into a new cardiovascular institute.
The project is designed to meet a growing demand for cardiovascular services at the hospital through a single, large and collaborative space, according to a certificate-of-need filing with the state. The hospital plans to renovate more than 1,000 square feet of cardiology space and about 7,500 square feet of adjacent space to create the consolidated cardiovascular institute. Once complete, it will include patient care areas, such as exam rooms and a nuclear medicine gamma camera for cardiac imaging. It also will house offices, staff support and public areas.
