Sabina Lim, MD, MPH, Vice President and Chief of Strategy, Behavioral Health, for the Mount Sinai Health System, is being honored by Institute for Community Living (ICL) with the “Health Care Innovators Award,” which recognizes national leadership in moving our health care system forward in new and innovative ways. The award was presented on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the annual ICL Builders of the Future Gala at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan.
Dr. Lim has helped shape a system-wide behavioral health strategy at Mount Sinai Health System, one of the largest in the Northeast. Mount Sinai works closely with ICL to meet the needs of a broad network of patients. This helps to improve the patients' overall health and develop the best possible treatment plan for each one. Dr. Lim is receiving this award for the seamless connection she brings between ICL and Mount Sinai in working to coordinate the care of the most difficult-to-engage patients.
“I am truly honored to receive this award and committed to advancing the critical integration of health and behavioral health with exceptional community partners such as ICL. The seamless connection with dedicated partners in this day and age is crucial for better results to engage, assess, and manage behavioral and physical health,” said Dr. Lim, who is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. “I look forward to working more closely with ICL to help make an even more substantive impact in the lives of people and the communities we serve.”
“We are grateful to be partnering with Mount Sinai in a new kind of collaboration between health and behavioral health that focuses on whole health approaches for high-need individuals,” said David Woodlock, MS, President and CEO of ICL. “Dr. Lim’s appreciation of the value of what we do and willingness to embark on this kind of partnership reinforces our commitment to advancing integrated care that treats the whole person and the entirety of their lives.”
Dr. Lim oversees the clinical, financial, and administrative performance of Behavioral Health services across the Mount Sinai Health System, which includes more than 350 inpatient behavioral health beds and 60 outpatient clinics and specialty programs, with more than one million ambulatory visits.
