The Breast Reconstruction Program at Mount Sinai West, led by Hani Sbitany, MD, an internationally renowned leader in breast reconstruction, offers the full complement of breast reconstruction options and specialized expertise in advanced muscle-sparing and microsurgical techniques. These breast reconstruction options offer many patient benefits, and are not available at many other medical centers.

There are several approaches to breast reconstruction, and they fall into two categories: those involving breast implants, and those using your body’s own tissue (fat), called autologous. With either option, we can usually perform the reconstruction procedure at the same time as the mastectomy, or if necessary at a later date. Both types of procedures offer their own benefits, so you should review the options with our breast reconstruction specialists, and decide which approach fits you best.
