Primary care provider visits are on the decline, shrinking by nearly 25 percent between 2008 and 2016, according to researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. According to the researchers, “Policymakers might focus on facilitating access to primary care, for example through lower cost-sharing for PCP visits and expanding primary care capacity.”
