Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Ranks in the Top 20 Medical Schools by US News and World Report
The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences ranks in the Top 50 in this year’s "America's Best Graduate School" Rankings
U.S. News & World Report has ranked the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai 19 out of 153 accredited medical schools and schools of osteopathic medicine nationwide, maintaining a strong position in the top 20 best medical schools in the United States. In addition, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Icahn School of Medicine maintained its number 42 ranking, making it one of the nation’s top 50 Graduate Schools in the report released on March 11, 2014.

Mount Sinai's Geriatrics Program continued its status as the top graduate program in the nation for the fourth straight year, ranked No. 1. Mount Sinai improved in several ranking indicators, including overall and peer assessment scores. Undergraduate GPA and faculty/student ratio also improved, showcasing the talent and commitment of our students and staff.
The new rankings, released in the 2014-2015 edition of the U.S. News & World Report "America's Best Graduate Schools" issue, are based on statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school's faculty, research, and students. This information is obtained through surveys of program directors as well as academics and professionals. Criteria used in the rankings include peer assessment surveys, research activity, grade point averages, MCAT scores, and National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding.
Mount Sinai students are among the most qualified in the nation and the school continues to be a national leader in NIH funding, reflecting the prolific work of our scientists. .
