Dr. Erwin Böttinger Presents Grand Rounds on October 10th

Erwin Böttinger, MD will present the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health’s October Grand Rounds. His presentation is entitled, “Personalized Medicine in Primary Care.” Personalized medicine is a cutting edge field that aims to provide personalized data-driven clinical care.

Dr. Böttinger is the Director of The Charles Bronfman Institute for Personalized Medicine at Mount Sinai and Professor of Medicine, Nephrology, and Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics at the Icahn School of Medicine.

Dr. Böttinger’s laboratory research is focused on early pathomechanisms and biomarkers in diabetic nephropathy and non-diabetic kidney diseases. His research laboratory has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health since 1998. Dr. Böttinger is the Principal Investigator for Mount Sinai’s BioMe hospital-based Biobank and several NIH-funded national research consortia, including the Chronic Kidney Disease Biomarker Consortium and the electronic medical records and genomics (eMERGE) network.

As part of the Mount Sinai Health System’s virtual campus, videoconferencing will be offered with the Beth Israel Medical Center’s Department of Family Medicine and the Mount Sinai-affiliated Mid Hudson Family Practice Residency in Kingston.

The event will be held from 8-9am on Friday, October 10th in Mount Sinai’s Hatch Auditorium (Guggenheim Pavilion, 1468 Madison Ave, 2nd Floor). A light breakfast will be served at 7:45am.

Department of Family Medicine and Community Health Grand Rounds are supported with a generous donation from the Steven A. and Alexandra M. Cohen Foundation. They are open to all and occur on the second Friday of every month throughout the academic year.
