"Star Jones: 'I am the Face of Heart Disease'"
Star Jones, a lawyer and best-selling author, underwent open-heart surgery after being diagnosed with heart disease four years ago. Today, Jones is a National Volunteer with The American Heart Association and has received numerous awards and recognition for her work as a heart-health advocate. Valentin Fuster, MD, Director of Mount Sinai Heart, the Zena and Michael A. Wiener Cardiovascular Institute and the Marie-Josée and Henry R. Kravis Center for Cardiovascular Health and doctors at The Mount Sinai Hospital repaired Jones’ aortic valve and removed a subaortic membrane to stave off future heart issues. Learn more
