Geriatrics

As an older adult, your health care is as important as ever before. You may have medical conditions in addition to the changes that come with age. Since your needs evolve over time, you now may need a different kind of health care.

Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West are nationally ranked among the best Geriatrics programs by U.S. News & World Report® for 2024-25, and we respect these changing health care needs and see you as a person first. Our geriatrics team provides more than just primary care.  We provide holistic, comprehensive care like we offer at our Martha Stewart Center for Living on the Upper East Side and in Union Square. We care for you in your neighborhood—at the border of West Harlem and Morningside Heights.

Comprehensive, Collaborative Care

Our team starts with doctors specializing in geriatric medicine and palliative care. We also have nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, and medical assistants. We work as a team to meet your health care needs. We can treat your medical conditions and help you manage health issues that commonly come with aging, such as osteoporosis, falls, frailty, memory loss, and incontinence.

We work with specialists within the Mount Sinai Health System. These doctors include cardiologists, rheumatologists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, psychiatrists, and a variety of other specialists. Our state-of-the-art electronic medical record system allows us to quickly and confidentially access your health history, test results, and progress. This lets us work promptly with other doctors to make sure you receive the best care.

Improving Health, Managing Symptoms

Our goal is to maintain or improve your health and manage your symptoms so you can enjoy life.

We dedicate ourselves to treating you as a whole person. To this end, we provide psychological, spiritual, and social support services. Our social workers can offer guidance on government and insurance support and services. We can also support caregivers, helping them manage the stress of their caregiving role. For additional support and palliative care services, we can also refer you to the Lilian and Benjamin Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute
