Princeton University HPA Vitals: FlexMed: An Innovative Medical Education Model

This year, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is rolling out its FlexMed program, expanding to invite all undergraduates to apply. The school plans for 50 percent of their entering class to eventually come from FlexMed applicants. Holistic approaches to admissions processes require careful thought and evaluation, efforts that can be time-consuming but well worth it. With each class accepted into programs like HuMed and FlexMed, Mount Sinai and other schools that are beginning to re-envision admissions processes are expanding the range and experiences of future physicians in immeasurable ways.
