Migraine in Kids Linked with Colic as Baby - Nancy Walsh
Children who experienced migraine headaches commonly had colic in infancy, suggesting a possible connection between the two conditions, European researchers reported. Another implication of the study, according to Shannon Babineau, MD, of Mount Sinai Hospital, who was not involved in the study, is that colic might be considered a predictor of later migraine."Migraine is a very common problem. If we could identify children at younger ages who are at risk, that would allow parents to educate themselves about what migraine is, what symptoms to look for as the child gets older, and hopefully how to better manage or even prevent it," Dr. Babineau said.
