Erin S. Dupree, MD, Named Chief Medical Officer of The Mount Sinai Medical Center
Dr. Dupree is a nationally recognized leader in patient safety and quality who has helped Mount Sinai become among the best medical centers in the country.
Erin S. DuPree, MD, a nationally recognized leader in patient safety and quality, was recently named Chief Medical Officer of The Mount Sinai Medical Center. Prior to her appointment, Dr. DuPree served as Mount Sinai's Vice President for Patient Safety, Vice Chair of Quality for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, and Deputy Chief Medical Officer.
Under Dr. Dupree's leadership, Mount Sinai has improved its response to adverse events, and accelerated the use of real-time data to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes. She is certified as a Six Sigma Greenbelt, EPIC physician informaticist, and TeamSTEPPS (team training) master trainer.

Recently, Dr. DuPree was selected as an inaugural member of the Innovation Advisors Program of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a group charged with testing new models of health care delivery, improving patient health and patient care, and lowering costs through improvement.

At Mount Sinai, Dr. DuPree will continue to practice obstetrics and gynecology, and maintain her appointment in the Department of Health Evidence and Policy.
Dr. DuPree received her MD from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, in New York and completed her residency in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at Mount Sinai, where she became an attending physician. She was a member of the faculty at Cornell University, New York-Presbyterian Hospital from 2001-2004 and returned to Mount Sinai in 2005.
