Soar Over Hate is a New York City-based non-profit founded by Michelle Tran, a medical student at the Icahn School of Medicine, that provides care and protection to Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The organization provides the AAPI community with personal safety devices, encourages community advocacy, and offers therapy services to heal from racial trauma through the Heal From Hate Therapy Fund. Soar Over Hate has distributed over 1,000 personal safety devices to Mount Sinai staff and over 23,000 personal safety devices across New York and California. Soar Over Hate won a $25,000 donation in December of 2021. This prize will allow Soar Over Hate to expand and make more donations.
The Center for Stress, Resilience, and Personal Growth (CSRPG) is here to support all members of the Mount Sinai community, helping improve well-being and resilience. We offer confidential behavioral health care and resilience-training workshops to staff, faculty, trainees, and medical and graduate students. We can also help adult dependents and partners of Mount Sinai employees who are covered by the same insurance. CSRPG can be contacted at 212-659-5564 or MS-CSRPG@mountsinai.org.
