Mount Sinai International, the global arm of the Mount Sinai Health System, will lead a high-impact session on transforming healthcare quality and safety culture at the 2025 International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare, taking place August 13–15 in Singapore.

The session, titled Embarking on the Global Culture Transformation Marathon: Mount Sinai's Roadmap to Sustainable Excellence in Healthcare Quality,” will be presented by Tao Xu, MD, Medical Director, and Eric Barna, MD, Director of Education. Together, they will explore how health systems around the world can address the persistent challenge of healthcare-acquired conditions—recognized as a leading yet preventable source of patient harm globally.

Drawing on over a decade of international partnerships, Dr. Xu and Dr. Barna will highlight Mount Sinai’s evidence-based approach to quality improvement, emphasizing the role of frontline empowerment, interdisciplinary education, and process redesign. From equipping clinicians in India to lead safety initiatives, to breaking down silos across clinical teams in China, Mount Sinai International has cultivated sustainable, scalable models for advancing patient-centered care.

Attendees will gain practical strategies and case studies demonstrating how to embed a culture of safety, equity, and continuous improvement within diverse healthcare environments. The session will offer actionable insights for hospital executives, quality professionals, and policymakers seeking to drive long-term impact in their institutions.

“At the heart of Mount Sinai International’s partnerships is a deep commitment to building quality and patient safety systems that meet and exceed global benchmarks,” said Dr. Szabi Dorotovics, President of Mount Sinai International. “We look forward to sharing our experience and collaborating with healthcare leaders from across the world to accelerate progress toward safer, more equitable care.”
