Mount Sinai Ambulatory Ventures is planning a $10.2 million ambulatory surgical center on the Upper West Side. The freestanding, single-specialty center for gastroenterology will be located in leased space in an existing building at 2101-2115 Broadway, according to a certificate-of-need filing with the state. Mount Sinai Ambulatory Ventures will own 85 percent of the center, with Merritt Healthcare Holdings UWS LLC owning 15 percent. There are 42 physicians practicing within the division of gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Health System who are interested in performing procedures at the center, according to the filing. The center will have four procedure rooms as well as preoperative and recovery areas. About 9,000 cases, representing nearly 10,000 procedures, are expected to be performed there in its first year of operation. Mount Sinai and Merritt said in the filing that the center "will provide a high-quality and efficient care model to the surrounding community at a location that is convenient and accessible."
