The Mount Sinai Health System will celebrate the American Heart Association’s National Walking Day on Wednesday, April 1 hosting several 30-minute walks around New York City.

Hundreds of Mount Sinai employees will lace up their sneakers during their lunch hour to participate in one of five different 30-minute walks in a nearby park or the hospital’s neighborhood to raise awareness of the importance of staying active daily for at least 30-minutes a day.

"A simple 30-minute brisk walk around the park or your neighborhood each day can significantly impact and improve your heart health and longevity," says Beth Oliver, RN, DNP, Vice President of Cardiac Services for the Mount Sinai Health System.
