New York, home to some of the biggest and best things on Earth, also boasts a slew of some of the country's best children's hospitals.
From heart disease, to diabetes, the millions of children in the metropolitan area have access to the top minds and hands in the medical profession. According to the 2013-14 U.S. News & World Report Best Children's Hospitals issue, Mount Sinai's Kravis Children's Hospital on the Upper East Side saw its standing improve for the second year in a row, excelling in seven specialties — including pediatric cardiology and heart surgery, which was not nationally ranked last year. Overall, Kravis Children's Hospital was ranked second highest among New York City's pediatric hospitals.
