As the chairman of the Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery Department at Mount Sinai, Dr. Eric Genden is a head and neck surgeon who sees patients for problems including cancer of the thyroid and benign disease of the parathyroid. "Thyroid cancer is a disease that can spread to the local lymph nodes or, in more extreme cases, the lungs, liver or bones," says Dr. Genden.
