A more restrictive definition of a positive result in CT screening for lung cancer could reduce the rate of false-positives and unnecessary follow-up tests, researchers reported. But a higher threshold for baseline screening would have resulted in delayed diagnosis of as much as nine months in about six percent of lung cancer patients, according to Claudia Henschke, MD, PhD, of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and colleagues.
