Addiction

At Mount Sinai Beth Israel, we understand the pain and challenges caused by substance use disorders, and our specialists are here to help you and your family on the path to recovery. As part of the Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai (AIMS), Mount Sinai Beth Israel provides a wide range of specialized inpatient and outpatient services, from assessments to inpatient and outpatient services of varying levels.

Inpatient Addiction Services

Inpatient treatment is the beginning of the recovery process for many patients. Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Mount Sinai West are the two AIMS locations offering inpatient programs. Our care begins with a comprehensive assessment made by our team of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, psychologists, and substance abuse counselors. This evaluation includes a history, physical examination, lab tests, and biopsychosocial assessment.

Our facilities provide a safe environment for detoxification, where we help manage the symptoms of withdrawal. After detoxification, the next step is typically inpatient rehabilitation, which delivers safe, round-the-clock care in a structured therapeutic setting. Our inpatient program teaches patients how to experience life without drugs or alcohol, and involves family as an essential element of recovery.

At Mount Sinai Beth Israel, our inpatient services include daily counseling sessions, group counseling, and spiritual care.

Outpatient Addiction Services

For patients who don’t require the intensity of inpatient services, the Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai offers comprehensive outpatient services at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai St. Luke’s, and Mount Sinai West. The Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai at Beth Israel offers the following programs at various times of the day, giving you the flexibility of receiving treatment that fits your schedule.

Ambulatory Detoxification for Opioid Abuse Disorder: Ambulatory detox is available for patients with opioid use disorder only. Patients must be evaluated for this service and are treated with methadone or buprenorphine (suboxone) for the detoxification process.
