After studying nearly 500 lung scans sent from colleagues in China, Mount Sinai Health System radiologists Adam Bernheim, MD, assistant professor of diagnostic, molecular and interventional radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Michael Chung, MD, assistant professor of diagnostic, molecular and interventional radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai are describing a clue that could quickly suggest that a patient has coronavirus and not something else. “There are certain patterns that are emerging that are becoming quite clear.” They added, “What's most striking to us in our research is how the lung lesions are arising in the outer portion of the lungs they have a very rounded shape to them as the disease progresses.”
