In this exclusive interview, Grenye O’Malley, MD, chief endocrine fellow in the division of endocrinology, diabetes and bone disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, talks with Publisher, Steve Freed, during the AACE 2018 convention, about the changes that happen for women with type 1 diabetes who are pregnant and using insulin pump therapy. “What we found was that the basal rates had a slight decrease in the early pregnancy which corresponds to when women are at highest risk of hypoglycemia and then around halfway through the pregnancy, they started to rise. We saw the biggest change in overnight settings,” said Dr. O’Malley
