Tiger Woods Hoping To Play In 2011 U.S. Open, Doctor Says Knee Injury 'Could Be His Kryptonite'
Tiger Woods is optimistic about his chances to play in next month's U.S. Open. Medical experts concur, however, that his knee problems aren't likely to go away. "The knee could be his Kryptonite," said Dr. Ronald Grelsamer, a knee specialist at the Department of Orthopaedics at The Mount Sinai Hospital. "I think he's got a chronic knee condition. He hasn't told us what that chronic knee condition is, but it's going to be a recurrent source of problems.” Dr. Alexis Colvin, also from Mount Sinai, says what he's experiencing is not unusual for someone who has had microfracture surgery.
