Rachel Vreeman, MD, MS, discusses Mount Sinai’s Arnhold Institute for Global Health receiving an $8 million grant from the Arnhold Foundation to support clinical education, research, and support for global health systems. She said, “The funding will go toward supporting faculty members who participate in research, clinical care, program development, and educational activities in institute programs around the world over five years. The money will also support partnerships between Mount Sinai faculty and faculty in Kenya, Ghana, and Nepal. [The funding] is more flexible and able to support what the local needs are for the health system in that place, even as we then seek out further research funding and we seek out additional support from Global Health funders as well.”
