  • (December 24, 2014)

The actress opens up about her riveting performance as a university professor whose life unravels after being diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. She spent four months completely immersing herself in the role. Moore rented every Alzheimer’s documentary she could get her hands on; met with the head of the Alzheimer’s Association, who then set her up with women across the country who had been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s—the youngest of which was 45; and visited Mount Sinai and met with their leading Alzheimer’s researcher, Mary Sano, MD.

- Dr. Mary Sano, Professor, Psychiatry, Associate Dean for Clinical Research, Director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
