The Daily News launched its annual week of free prostate cancer testing on Father's Day, making free PSA tests available to men over 40 at dozens of locations in New York and New Jersey. It's a simple blood test that measures the level of prostate-specific antigen, a protein produced by cells of the prostate gland. "There is a lot of confusion about screening: What does it really mean? Does everyone really need to get diagnosed and treated?" said Dr. Simon Hall, Chair of Urology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center. "But the bottom line is you can't get away from this: 30,000 men are dying every year." Learn more
