Julissa Marquez was viciously stabbed by her ex-husband several years ago. Now, thanks to Ronald Gentile, MD, director of the Ocular Trauma Service at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, and others at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, Marquez is slowly regaining eyesight and has a "glass half full" attitude. “Her injury is very severe and she needed 10 surgeries to get where she is today,” said Dr. Gentile. “She’s a real inspiration to anyone that knows her story, because to her the glass is half full and not half empty.
