Behavioral Health Services

At South Nassau, we can help you or a loved one with a variety of behavioral health and comorbid addiction issues. For more than 40 years, our inpatient and outpatient programs have provided the highest quality care to children, families, and adults. We deliver evidence-based therapy, psychiatric evaluations, and medication management in a welcoming and compassionate environment. Whether supporting a child’s emotional growth, guiding teens, or helping adults and families develop healthy coping strategies for navigating both short-term crises and ongoing conditions, we offer personalized treatment. And our efforts provide measurable results.

Our Behavioral Health Experts

At the heart of our program is a collaborative team of licensed specialists. Our psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social work therapists, and art therapists bring a full spectrum of expertise to every person’s treatment. Care begins with a thorough assessment. This includes clinical interviews, safety and risk screening, medical and psychiatric history, current symptoms and medications, and a careful review of strengths and needs. You will work with our providers to develop a plan of clear and meaningful goals based on your requirements and preferences.

Our Mental Health Programs and Facilities

  • Partial Hospitalization Program for daily psychiatric services to adults who require intensive treatment with the benefit of living at home
  • Intensive Outpatient Program for adults who need comprehensive care three times a week
  • Outpatient therapy (individual, group, or family) for people ages five and up who require ongoing weekly or biweekly care, with psychiatric evaluation and medication management as appropriate
