"HCV Reinfection Rates High Among HIV-Infected MSM" - Ethan Covey

Rates of hepatitis C virus (HCV) reinfection among men who have sex with men in New York City are roughly five percent, similar to rates reported after interferon treatment in HIV-infected MSM in Europe. “This is at least seven times higher than the primary infection rate,” said study author Daniel Fierer, MD associate professor of medicine and infectious diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He added, ““This is the same pattern as seen by investigators in Europe.”
