"The Importance Of Prostate Cancer Screening In African American Men"

Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer among men in the United States, for African American men, the rate is sixty percent higher than other races. Researchers suggest that African American males should begin screening for Prostate Cancer in their forties, a decade earlier than other groups. Gerald P. Hoke, MD, MPH, assistant professor of urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai said, "African American men tend to have higher amounts of the tumor in their prostate."
