In the study, a retrospective cohort analysis of the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership (EHHOP) patients with hypertension was performed was compared to New York State Medicaid and commercial insurance patients with hypertension. Overall, study results demonstrate that EHHOP patients experience clinically meaningful reductions in blood pressure. While limited by sample size, results also suggest that outcomes at EHHOP are similar to New York State Medicaid and commercial insurance populations. Results support student-run clinics as a model for delivering high quality healthcare to vulnerable populations.
