"ISMMS Investigators Receive PCORI Award"
On December 17, 2013 the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) approved $93.5 million to support 29 health data networks that together will form an ambitious new resource known as PCORnet, the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network.
The newly formed New York City Clinical Data Research Network (NYC-CDRN) was awarded a $7 million grant as one of the 11 funded PCORI CDRNs. It will bring together a total of 22 organizations across seven health systems across New York City. The NYC-CDRN will create a centralized data repository for anonymized, complete, comprehensive, and longitudinal data for at least 2.5 million patients, and potentially as many as 6 million patients. It will also create the infrastructure to embed clinical research activities into point of care. Dr. Deborah Ascheim, MD, serves as the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai site Principal Investigator. Learn more
