David J Rothman Presented Grand Rounds on October 11th

David J. Rothman, PhD, President of the Institute on Medicine as a Profession and Bernard Schoenberg Professor of Social Medicine at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, presented at the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health’s October Grand Rounds. His presentation, entitled “Letting the Sunshine In: The Implications of Transparency for Conflict of Interest and Medical Practice,” provides a brief history of transparency policies and analyzes how the practice spread to medicine, exploring conflict of interest and physician-industry relationships. Dr. Rothman traces the implications of the Sunshine Act for physicians and medical practice.

The lecture took place on Friday, October 11th in Mount Sinai’s Annenberg Building, Stern Auditorium, 1468 Madison Avenue at 101st Street.

Department of Family Medicine and Community Health Grand Rounds are open to all. They occur on the second Friday of every month throughout the academic year.
