San Francisco Chronicle - "Ayasdi Software Offers New Look at Data"
In 2008, Gunnar Carlsson of Stanford University co-founded Ayasdi Inc., a Palo Alto tech startup. Ayasdi, which means "to seek" in Cherokee, first company to come out of Stanford's math department, just received $10 million in funding from Khosla Ventures and Floodgate. "I view it as one of the real advances in data analysis to have arrived in the last 10 years," says Dr. Eric Schadt, the director of the Institute for Genomics and Multiscale Biology at Mount Sinai .
