Annual International Transgender Day of Remembrance November 20th
In honor of Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20th, the faculty and staff of Mount Sinai Health System, led by our Institute for Advanced Medicine, the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery, and the Crime Victims Treatment Center extends its unequivocal support to all members of the transgender community. The day honors the memory of those murdered because of anti-transgender prejudice and serves to highlight the pervasive and persistent problem of violence committed against transgender people, as well as the diversity and resilience of the community in the face of harassment and violence.
The epidemic of violence committed against transgender and gender non-conforming people must end in the United States and across the globe. We support the mission of the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Projects, and the resources they provide, including reports, toolkits, and events.
