Research at the Grabscheid Voice and Swallowing Center of Mount Sinai

Voice and swallowing are two areas of medicine where knowledge base is rapidly expanding. New insights into wound healing, sensitivity of tissues, emotion and voice, and neural regeneration after injury demand that we apply these new findings in our clinical diagnostics and treatments. Some new findings are requiring us to devise new methods of measuring tissue characteristics, and some help direct treatments toward those with better outcomes. Our research at Mount Sinai is both clinical and basic science, each supporting the other.
