About the Rowan Women’s Health Center
The Carolyn Rowan Center for Women’s Health and Wellness was created to redesign how women’s healthcare is delivered. For too long, care systems did not fully reflect the biological differences and life experiences that shape women’s health. The Rowan Women’s Health Center exists to build a model grounded in women’s biology and aligned with how health evolves across life stages.
What does that mean for you? It means care that includes listening carefully, looking at the full picture, and connecting the dots across specialties. It means understanding that what happens in your twenties can influence your forties, and that midlife shapes the decades that follow.
Our work is guided by three commitments:
- Science designed around women: We support and conduct research grounded in women’s biology, so the care you receive is informed by evidence that reflects your body and your life stage.
- Physician-led care you can trust: The Rowan Women’s Health Center is led by doctors who set standards, coordinate across specialties, and take responsibility for delivering high-quality, connected care.
- Care that supports you over decades: We focus on your current as well as long-term health, not isolated visits. Our aim is prevention, resilience, and sustained wellbeing.
Research at the Rowan Women’s Health Center
The Rowan Women’s Health Center houses a prominent research unit led by Leslee Shaw, PhD, focused on filling the knowledge gaps in women's health. We're studying how hormonal changes affect everything from cognition to cardiovascular risk. We're testing new approaches to conditions like endometriosis and PCOS. Our goal is to generate the evidence that will change how women are treated everywhere and we invite you to be a part of leading the way.
