Personal Energy Balance Package
This package is for any individual who is curious about their body composition and their metabolism at rest (including your body’s capacity to use fat and carbohydrates for energy). You will learn about your body’s daily caloric needs and how to use this information to alter your body composition.
Includes:
- Highly accurate information on your fat mass and lean mass distributions (BodPod)
- Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) to determine your daily caloric needs from food
Metabolic Package
This package is for any individual who is curious about their individualized metabolism. It can be difficult to lose, maintain, or gain weight by relying on general recommendations. The metabolic package combines body composition measurements with metabolism measures (at rest and during exercise) that will inform you about your body’s capacity to use fat and carbohydrates for energy. We will design a personal exercise plan, developed from your own metabolic data, to optimize your exercise to your goals.
Includes:
- Highly accurate information on your fat mass and lean mass distributions (BodPod)
- RMR to determine your daily caloric needs from food
- Exercise planning at a personalized intensity that maximizes fat utilization and calorie burning (FatMax)
A follow-up session is highly recommended to track your progress with real data.
*Note to individuals currently taking, or thinking of taking, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RAs) weight-loss drugs: These drugs are extremely effective at promoting weight loss and have revolutionized weight loss therapy. But changes in simple body weight do not provide the full picture. Some individuals taking these drugs experience significant muscle loss, along with fat mass loss, which can increase sarcopenia (excessive muscle loss), frailty, and fall risks, and impact quality of life. We can (*see rate below) the Metabolic Package to include (in addition to the testing described above):
- A personalized, four-month, home-based strength training plan (bands provided) with initial training and weekly remote check ins
- Progress assessment at four months via a one-on-one, hour-long session with an exercise physiologist to discuss progress and implement changes as needed
*Our team is happy to work with your primary care provider or endocrinologist to incorporate the data into your overall health plan. Additional charge of $250 will be applied to the Metabolic Package rate.
Performance Package
This package is for individuals seeking to improve their exercise performance and training. Learn about your body composition and your body’s capacity to deliver oxygen to your muscles, and the ability of your muscles to use that oxygen during exercise. Then receive specific training recommendations to help you improve your fitness.
Includes:
- Highly accurate information on your fat mass and lean mass distributions (BodPod)
- Evaluation of your overall cardiovascular fitness level and exercise performance (VO2 max)
A follow-up session is highly recommended to track your progress with real data.
Exercise Package
This package is for individuals who want to develop a highly personalized exercise plan. You will learn what fuels your body uses at different exercise intensities and how efficiently your body delivers and uses oxygen during exercise. We will use this data to create an individualized exercise plan to maximize the efficiency of your training and fitness goals.
Includes:
- Exercise planning at a personalized intensity that maximizes fat utilization and calorie burning (FatMax)
- Evaluation of your overall cardiovascular fitness level and exercise performance (VO2 max)
- One-on-one, hour-long session with an exercise physiologist to discuss exercise goals and planning to meet individual health and fitness goals

Nutrition Package
This package is for individuals who are curious about their dietary adequacy and want a baseline body composition assessment to track progress for future weight changes. Learn about your body composition and the areas of your diet that need improvement, according to U.S. Dietary Guidelines.
Includes:
- Highly accurate information on your fat mass and lean mass distributions (BodPod)
- Nutrition Adequacy assessment
- One-on-one, hour-long session with a registered dietitian to discuss nutrition goals and diet planning to meet individual health and fitness goals
A follow-up session is highly recommended to track your progress with real data.
Healthspan
Health experts are placing increasing emphasis on the importance of maximizing healthspan (the duration of life lived without disease, disability or major limitations), rather than focusing on longevity alone. The most significant factors contributing to increased healthspan (VO2 max, muscle mass, and strength, and a healthy diet) are routinely measured at the Mount Sinai Physiolab on our gold-standard equipment. As our most comprehensive offering, the Healthspan Package will generate data across multiple domains critically relevant to health and provide you with a cohesive plan to improve your healthspan.
