About Us

Mount Sinai’s Charles Lazarus Children’s Abilities Center puts science to work to increase your child’s mobility. We want all children to have access to the tools and resources they need to reach their full potential, regardless of their circumstances. We specialize in customizing technology and treatment to meet each child’s individual needs.

We are part of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai’s Department of Rehabilitation and Human Performance. This means we have a team of clinicians, artists, entrepreneurs, and scientists at the ready. By combining the latest research with excellent patient care, we tackle some of the greatest challenges in children’s health.

We follow three guiding principles:

  • All children deserve access to life-changing therapies. This means we strive to provide the latest and greatest care at the lowest possible cost to your family.
  • All children deserve tomorrow’s solutions today. On average, it takes about 17 years for the medical community to adopt new technologies. We are working to speed that process.
  • Collaboration is key. We work with a variety of partners, including some you might not expect.
