Pediatric Radiology

At Mount Sinai, our pediatric radiologists help develop diagnoses for children of all ages. We work with premature infants to young adults. We collaborate closely with your referring doctor. Communication is key to selecting the imaging test that will give us the most accurate diagnosis. We try to avoid performing scans that use radiation. If we do need to use radiation, we use as little as possible, which is especially important for children.

We use a wide variety of diagnostic scans:

• Positron emission tomography (PET)
• Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry
